State #24, May 24, 2013: Utah, St. George

Run #25 (DC and 24 states), Friday, May 24, 11:00 p.m.
St. George, Utah Midnight 5K
Checking in. The 5K actually starts at 11 p.m. which is midnight in Dallas.

These ladies are ready to run.
We ran the runways at the old St. George airport which closed a few years ago.
I finished 93rd out of 548 and first in my age group with a time of 25:31.
This is right after the run with Bruce who finished 2nd in our age group. Bruce has run the October St. George Marathon 16 times, the Boston Marathon in 2008, and he is training for the NY Marathon in November.

Heading to the stage to get my 1st place medal.
Bruce and me with our medals.
It was a well-organized run, and I have not been up this late in months. And for first, I also received a $15 gift certificate.

Here are a few pics I took earlier looking east from the site of the 5k. They show the beauty of St. George.

and, a pic of the old airport and runways where we ran last night from my flight to Salt Lake City with a destination tonight of Coeur d'Alene for Sunday's Idaho 5K.
