State 48, September 8, 2013: Montana, Bozeman

Run #49 (DC and 48 states), Sunday, September 8, 8:00 a.m.
The 3rd Annual Bozeman Marathon and Half Marathon

Runners caught a bus on Main Street in Downtown Boseman at 6:45 a.m. to ride to the starting line about 13 miles south of Bozeman.

Panoramic view of the start location.

But most runners are busy a few hundred yards behind the above shot.

Shortly before 8 a.m., the runners head for the starting line.

Like my new support hose (A.K.A leg compression sleeves)?

And about 2 hours and 10 minutes later...

334th out of 554 and 3rd in my age group, for which I was awarded a belt buckle.

20 more yards...

State #46

239th out of 1332
6th out of 29 in 60-64 age group

Everything about this 10K/5K Franklin Classic was spectacular. The scene at the check-in and the start and finish in historic downtown Franklin reminded me of Main Street Disney. Organization, timing, refreshments, parking, and volunteers were terrific.

State #45, September 1, 2013: Indiana, Jasper

Run #46 (DC and 45 states), Sunday, September 1, 7:30 a.m.

It's 7 a.m. at the Heartland Half Marathon and 5K in Jasper, Indiana.

After a prayer, the National Anthem was played beautifully on a trumpet.(Reminded me of Tommy Loy's trumpet Anthem at 24 Thanksgiving Dallas Cowboy games)

Then a start of "ready, get set, go," and we are off.

About a mile and a half on the road...

Then another mile and a half on a trail.

26th overall out of about 100 runners.
2nd in "60 and over" age group

2nd Place Trophy Presentation

Jasper has a beautiful courthouse with a "Back to the Future" clock tower.

Seems like a great place to live...
