David Ortiz, Big Papi, at the plate.

Boston leads 7 to 2 and have the bases loaded, but do not score.

Red Sox win 8 to 2 and celebrate

Third
The Boston Pops

We walked about 3/4 mile from our hotel to the river to watch the fireworks.
Lots of bunting

and we found that we could get into the Pops

A great moment when Boston Transit Officer Richard Donohue, who survived gunshot wounds battling the marathon bombers, came out on crutches and conducted the symphony.

With Jeannie are Casey and Natasha who also had gone to the Red Sox game. They were in the bleachers and baked.

Casey got some USA stickers for her face and received a surprise from the sun.
The orchestra played the famous 1812 Overture which included live cannon. Jeannie and I have watched this many times over the years, and were excited to watch this performance in person.

We also met a wonderful graduate student, Nidhi, from India. She showed us where to watch the fireworks.

Which were the best.

It was a wonderful day celebrating the Fourth.
